Why The GIDDI Prostate Play Survey Matters
Prostate massage has always been a mixed bag of curiosity and stigma.
Those who have tried it and love it, those who are curious about it, and the adamant nay-sayers who rebuke the idea. Increasingly, it has come up time and again through conversations between the curious, friends, and lovers, too!
Some men whisper about it, others dive in, and plenty just aren’t sure what to believe.
And that’s exactly why we ran this survey. We wanted to cut through the guesswork and hear directly from the people who are actually exploring their prostates, their habits, their desires, and their barriers. We wanted to decode the mysteries of prostate massage, for once and for all.
More than anything, we wanted to dig into the reasons why prostate play was working for people, and it isn’t just about sex toys; it’s about the culture that surrounds prostate massage.
The survey matters because it proves that prostate play isn’t niche anymore. It’s not just a private kink, it’s a growing, mainstream path to better sex and stronger orgasms. Not just for the men who have them, but their partners too!
Who’s Exploring Prostate Play
From our survey, one of the biggest surprises was not in how people like to play, but in who likes to play. It’s not just young guys chasing new thrills; it also shows that it is not just gay men who engage in prostate milking, either.

Most respondents were over 55, with nearly a third being 65 years old or older. While the data skews toward older, Cis males, it remains meaningfully diverse in terms of sexuality and identity.
At GIDDI, we have always known that our products are used across demographics, from couples to solo prostate adventurers and everyone in between; however, seeing the data was a surprise and has helped us get to know our audience a lot better.
One of the most notable statistics we got was that more than half the respondents were straight men at 56.3%. Showing that sexual orientation is not the driving factor behind the art of prostate play.
How Often Do They Play?
Once people start exploring prostate stimulation, they don’t just dabble.
Over 86% of respondents have tried prostate play at least once, and many continue to play regularly.

Prostate massage is more than just a once in a blue moon for the health benefits. It is becoming an intrinsic part of men's self-care routines.
Most use toys weekly (28%) or monthly (22%), while a solid chunk say they play a few times a week (21%)
Another thing to note from the data is that daily prostate play sessions are rare, but let’s be real, not everyone has that much free time (or stamina). You know what they say about too much of a good thing…
What Actually Feels Best
So, we know that men are playing, we know how often they play, but what kind of sensations are they loving?

While vibration might be the classic and known in the prostate massage community as a winner, surprisingly, it’s not the favorite.
Rotation, deep pressure, and thrusting all beat out plain buzz.
In fact, plenty of respondents simply said they just want “all of it”, every motion, every sensation. They want the whole cake and not a crumb missing.
The Prostate Orgasm Experience
Here’s where the data gets good.
We asked respondents about their prostate orgasm experience, if they have had one. To put it simply, 40% say it rocked their worlds and shattered their pleasure ceilings. It has become one of the most pleasurable acts of self-pleasure, with full-body rolling orgasms beating plain penile orgasms.

While another 30% are working on reaching that big, earth-shattering O, it is a labor of self-love and worth every step of the journey.
Hands-Free Climax & Bigger Loads
Imagine cumming without having to touch yourself. A true plug-and-play experience.

With 42% of respondents having achieved a hands-free orgasm, and another 31% actively working to get there. It has given us a snapshot view of the kinds of stimulation that men are looking for. And it is wholly a hands-free experience, meaning that almost half of the respondents sink into each orgasm without the need to get hands-on.
Another factor that has played into prostate play is the knock-on effects of stronger and more powerful ejaculations. With half of the respondents who have experienced a p-spot orgasm saying that prostate play gave them more powerful ejaculations, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.
Why They Do It
So why is prostate massage so popular? We asked and you answered.
Some try it out of sheer curiosity.

However, the top motivations are clear: stronger orgasms, more intense ejaculation, and the holy grail, hands-free climax. Don’t get us wrong, better erections and overall sexual fun also made the list, but true pleasure is the real driver here.
Pegging, Curiosity & Partner Play
So what about partnered play and the slightly more kinkier stuff? We asked about that too. It turns out prostate massage isn’t just a solo game.
Nearly half of the respondents are curious about pegging, and a quarter respondents have tried it.

Of those who tried, over 60% said they love it. As for the rest? Well, 45% said they were interested in pegging. Why is this important? It’s important because it shows that partnered prostate play is on the rise. People and couples are more sexually liberated and open to exploring than ever.
The data also highlights that prostate play is not just a solo adventure, and that the stigma behind butt stuff is starting to lessen and fade away. This data highlights that there is no shame in playing and handing over the control to a willing and eager partner.
What About Opportunities for Toys?
Here’s the kicker: 1 in 3 respondents don’t own a GIDDI toy (YET).

And when it comes to external prostate massagers, almost 70% said they’re interested but haven’t bought one.
Translation? Our respondents are curious, ready, and waiting to be equipped.
Of the respondents who are equipped, GIDDI products came in with some clear favorites;
To you, it might seem like pure data, but to us, it shows that girth and rotation are game changers in the game of prostate massage. Thor is our most popular toy, with Tomo coming in close after.
Pleasure > Health
Now that we have covered most of the data, we can take a deeper look at why people take up prostate play in the first place. We have all heard the benefits of prostate play on overall prostate health. From BPH to erectile dysfunction, and soothing swollen prostates, the health benefits are well known.

However, three-quarters of respondents had no health concerns at all. Meaning they simply do it for the pleasure and feel good sensations.
For most, this isn’t about wellness; it is about life-changing pleasure, and the health benefits are simply an added bonus that sweetens the deal.
The Bottom Line
Simply put, our data shows that prostate play isn’t niche. It shows that the stigma around butt stuff is waning and that it is becoming a commonplace practice for solo adventurers and partners.
Prostate massage is a growing movement, with men openly chasing hands-free orgasms, bigger loads, and more adventurous partner play.
And the statistics that excite us the most are the “curious but un-equipped” faction. It thrills us to know that the future of prostate toys and the pleasure they deliver looks very, very exciting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are prostate orgasms real?
Yes, and they’re intense. Many men describe them as deeper, longer, and more full-body than a “regular” orgasm. The GIDDI survey showed nearly 40% have already had one that rocked their world.
Is prostate play safe?
When done with the right toy, lube, and patience, prostate play is very safe. Start slow, listen to your body, and always use a toy with a flared base.
Does prostate massage really make you ejaculate more?
Half of the survey respondents said prostate play boosted their volume or made their ejaculation feel stronger. Results vary, but the perception of “bigger loads” is very common.
Do I need a partner to try prostate massage?
Not at all. Most men start solo, and many enjoy the practice alone. But if you’re into pegging or shared play, plenty of partners find it just as fun.
Are prostate toys only for gay or bi men?
Nope. Prostate stimulation is about anatomy, not orientation. The survey found a majority of respondents identified as straight, proving that this is for anyone with a prostate.
